Tonight was a disappoint night
for Miami Heat fans. Miami’s 27 game winning streak has come to an end by the
hands of the Chicago
Bulls. This was a much needed win for the Bulls
as the regular season is near the end. With this win it puts them in a good
position confidence wise going into the playoffs. Down two of their star
players for tonight’s game they were able to pull off a win. They have done
what 27 teams have been trying to do which is gave Miami a loss.
For the first half there was a lot of bodying
and aggression coming from the Bulls. They played hard and made The Heat work
from the start all the way through. Closing out the first half the bulls led 55-46.Going
into the third the Heat
came out hard stepping up their game out scoring the bulls 22-14. They were
able to get their first lead of the game, but that would not last too long. Right
when you thought the Heat might be able to pull away, the Bulls came right back
to silence the Heat fans. They made it known that tonight’s game would not be
easy.
Later in the game James was hit pretty hard as
he drove to the hoop. He was pulled down by two of the Bulls players. There was
a flagrant foul called, but after the refs checked the reply they ruled it a
personal foul. James frustrated and upset about the call had retaliated to it.
The next play Boozer went to set a pick on James. Lebron
saw it coming and threw his body into Boozer. The refs called a flagrant foul.
After checking the reply, the call stuck and Boozer got two free free-throws. As
the game progressed, the Heat could not find their rhythm. They tried
everything to battle back but this team just could not come up with another
win.
After the game the Heat did not show
sportsmanship by leaving the courts without congratulating the Bulls in their
win tonight. Signs of disappointment over took their face as all their faces
did not looked too pleased. You cannot really blame them since there was a lot
of emotion riding on this game and a chance to make another piece of NBA
history.
Heat fans should be sad but also happy at the
same time about this loss. It kind of took you back to the first year the big
three played together in the NBA finals and came up short to Dallas. It was the
same type of energy from that game you saw tonight after the loss. With this
loss, it will take Miami into the playoffs with something else on their minds.
It will also keep them humble and focused. Had they passed the all-time NBA
record it is a possibility that it would have got to their heads and they would
have lost focus come playoff time. Something that happened to San Antonio spurs
last year. Miami will be the team to beat in the playoffs. Had Miami gone to
beat the record, would it have affected their playoff run? Will this loss make
Miami that much more hungry come playoff time?
