Bates Motel
By -TQ
A new show premiered last week on A&E called,
Bates Motel. Now new shows I
don’t really buy into, I’m a skeptic. But the trailers got me! So I caught the
premiere and it was a good episode. The content was original and it promised to
be a twister of a ride. But the real question for me is, will it be consistent?
Episode two (“Nice Town You Picked Norma”)
aired yesterday, and I think I’m hooked!
The story goes that a mother and her son
find the husband dead, they move and buy a motel. The mother “Norma” is played
by the good looking Vera
Farmiga, and the son “Norman” played by Freddie Highmore
(if you don’t know who that it, don’t worry you’re not the only one). It is loosely based off Psycho, a
1960`s horror movie by the famous Alfred Hitchcock.
Now I say loosely because there are something that are not the same as the
movie. But for TV, sacrifices were made.
If you haven’t watched this show, and adult
content is not offensive to you, WATCH THIS! I say this because the production
company is so confident that, it is already a go for a whole season.
So whether you like it or not, it’s here to
stay might as well join us and like!
For those of you who are up to date, don’t
you think the relationship between Norma and Norman, is a little like Oedipus?

The best Football movies of all time
By - J
We know the football seasons come and gone, and Sundays are just not the same without football. So we've compiled a list of some of the best football movies of all time that you can kick back and relax to on Sunday. Mind you this isn't all, but just some of the best.
This is probably one of Adam Sanders funniest performances. It follows Sandler's character "Bobby Boucher" a stuttering water boy who's unique ability for tackling when upset leads the coach of South Central Louisiana State University "Coach Klien" to bring him onto the team. Bobby's mother forbids him to play and date girls as they are "The Devil", he secretly does both as he meets a girl "Vikki" whom he has his first relationship with. Other notable actors/actresses in this film are Kathy Bates and Henry Winkler.
Remember the Titans (2000)Based on the true story of an African American football coach Herman Boone (Denzel Washington) who is hired to coach T.C. Williams High school football team after Bill Yoast the former coach decides to move on with his career. In the segregated city of white and black culture the white players on the team attempt to stop the new "black" coach from running the team. Coach Boone then asks former coach Yoast to join on as an assistant coach to prevent further backlash. The story follows the players of different skin tones become one team and one family.
The Longest Yard (1974 & 2005)
Both of these films feature the same plot with Burty Reynolds reprising the role or Paul Crewe in the 1974 film and Adam Sandler with the role in the 2005 remake. It follows an ex football quarter back who is forced to create a team of inmates to play against the guards in order to help the guards become a better team. Both films are a definite watch.

The Blind Side (2009)This movie follows the true life events of Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher's journey to the pros. After being homeless and orphaned young man who is taken in by a kind couple and raised as part of their family. The family introduce him to football and he shines on the field. The movie follows Oher's journey from homeless to becoming the first round draft pick in 2009.
Rudy (1993)You'll recognize the guy in this movie as Samwise Gamgee from Lord of the Rings. Rudy follows the journey of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger's journey to play college football despite his small size. The movie is centered around all his hurdles trying to play for Notre Dame. Definitely a classic and a very motivational football movie.
The Program (1993)
Probably one of the best comedy football movies ever made. Period. Check it out for yourself below.

The Monday Hangover Cure
By - EB
As I am writing this from my dimly lit apartment, my head is pounding, my stomach is aching and my tongue feels dryer than sandpaper. Every Monday we are going to come up with three different ways to cure the hangover blues so you can get going with your week and hopefully do it all again next weekend. Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and if you're anything like us, you fully embrace the holiday that literally is based on the idea that you get wasted on a Sunday night (nowadays). Hopefully you had a blast but it's Monday and time to get back to reality so here's a few tips to get you feeling normal again.1. The Caesar - Alright so maybe one of the most obvious and well known hangover remedies is to start your morning off with a beer and you won't feel the hangover later in the day. The smell of beer after a hard night drinking is enough to make us sick, so go with a Caesar or a Bloody Mary. We suggest to do it with alcohol but its not a horrible idea to make it a virgin Mary instead.
2. Smokes Poutinerie - If you happened to walk out of the bar this weekend and decide that you need some serious chow but didn't happen to stumble your way in to Smokes, then head there first thing the next morning. You can customize your mess of fries cheese and gravy by adding whatever type of greesy food you want and smokes will make it for you. Grease = Good.
3. A Good Movie - We suggest keeping your mind of the shame of last nights adventures and putting on a good flick to curl up in the fetal position on the couch and watch. Hall Pass is available on Netflix now and may be a good comedy to keep your spirits high.
So chug that Caesar, mow that Poutine and land yourself on the couch for an afternoon of laughs and sobriety. See you next week.

1. Iron Man 3 - When Tony Stark finds his personal world to be in jeopardy he takes a quest to find those responsible and faces his most harrowing villain yet: The Mandarin.

Watch the trailer here.
3. The Hangover Part 3 - The wolf-pack is back. This is one of those movies you might be asking yourself, "really? again?" Although a third hangover seems like a little much were excited to see how they plan on doing it with no wedding, no bachelor party but this time with a trip to Amsterdam.
No trailer yet.
4. Spring Breakers - Alright we know what your thinking, but this isn't your regular disney good girl flick. This movie staring some of the hottest teen sensations, (Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez) is a story Four college girls who land in jail after robbing a restaurant in order to fund their spring break vacation find themselves bailed out by a drug dealer (James Franco) who wants them to do some dirty work.
Watch the trailer here.
5. Man of Steel - A young journalist raised by his adoptive parents after he was transported to Earth in infancy from the dying planet of Krypton finds himself in the position to save humankind after Earth is attacked. This looks like the best take on a super man movie yet.
Watch the trailer here.
6. Anchorman: The Legend Continues - If there is any ounce of manly-ness inside of you then one of your favourites, if not your favourite movie of all time is Anchorman. It's been over six years since we first met Ron Burgundy and it looks were going to get to see him and the crew at Channel 6 again. There isn't a release date but we know its going to be this year.
Watch the trailer here.
7. Monsters University - Okay, we may look pretty soft saying that were looking forward to a Monster Inc. sequel, but don't lie you are too. If you've ever seen that movie you can appreciate how well done it was, and how hilarious it really was. We expect nothing less from Monsters University.
Watch the trailer here.
9. Thor: The Dark World - Another sequel makes our list. If you didn't like Thor the first time around you should give it another shot. After what happened with the Avengers the race of dark elves lead by the evil Malekith threatens to plunge the world back in to darkness, and the fait of the universe is in Thors hammer.
No trailer available.
10. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - If you saw the first one and didnt read the book then you probably really enjoyed it. I've read the first book but that's it and I'm hoping that if i don't read the second one but see the movie then I might like it a little more.
No trailer available.
