Since it's March 1st, exactly a month since the release date of House of Cards an exclusive Netflix series, we here at SGL thought it would only be fitting to review the show. This political drama, follows the life of Frank Underwood played by Kevin Spacey, who after getting passed over for promotion to Secretary of State seeks out revenge on those who betrayed him. With the help of his wife, an environmental activist played by Robin White and a local reporter played Kate Mara, Underwood uses sleazy dark tactics to try and blackmail his way into the ultimate spot in the White House.
The Dynamic between Spacey and White is almost very fascinating and exciting to watch, somehow creating a reason for you to cheer for the couple that is clearly prepared to stop at nothing to see themselves in the limelight. Spacey, by far delivers the strongest display of method acting and it is easy to see that he jives well with the wonderfully manipulative Frank Underwood.
This show offers dark, twisted humour riding the coattail of brilliant dialogue. We give it a solid 9 out of 10 and are excited to see the second season, that is currently in production. Well worth 13 hours of your time.
